Despite the rain we had a great Raku session this afternoon with ArtsHouse on Tour, at The Green Place, Sileby. Leaves were stuck on the pots to resist the glaze with variable results, but some came out beautifully
Only a few days to go until Earth and Fire 2015. I'll be on the Loughborough University campus stand, representing the last of the MA Ceramics students from Loughborough at what is set to be the last Earth and Fire.
Looking forward to Saturday 6th June when I'll be taking my wheel to The Green Place, Sileby, hopefully there will be lots of folk there who would like to have a go.
It was a bit cold and windy but the weather held out yesterday for Ceramics in Charnwood, sold a couple of pieces and met some very interesting people. The local kids were on the wheel making some lovely pots with Bridget McVey and I.
I'm really pleased to have been approved to have my work displayed on the newly launched Craft Council Directory. My maker profile can be viewed here.
Been playing around with combining slabbing and throwing, the bases of these are thrown and the walls made up from strips of slap stuck on while the base is still on the wheel. So far this seems to be producing some pleasing results. The pebbles were rescued from my dog Lenny. He brings them into the house, puts them on the sofa and barks at them.
